New Faculty Orientation

Orientation and training is required for all new instructors at 黑料社. The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), Online Learning, and Educational Technology Department at 黑料社 offer training for instructors who wish to teach at 黑料社.

All faculty candidates who apply to teach at 黑料社 will receive a 黑料社 email address and login account from CTE. This account allows candidates to register for New Faculty Orientation Part 1. Candidates will follow the information received in the email from CTE to register for their first training.

Once registered for New Faculty Orientation Part 1 event, candidates will then login to My黑料社, our faculty portal, using your 黑料社 login credentials and click into Canvas, our Learning Management System. New Faculty Orientation Part 1 training is located on the user's Canvas Dashboard.

The instructor-led New Faculty Orientation Part 1 event is offered each block. The course is self-paced, and the average time to complete the training is 3-5 hours total. Modules include readings, completing activities in a Canvas course as a student, and completing activities in a Workspace course as an instructor.

After faculty candidates are assigned a course, they will register for New Faculty Orientation Part 2. Part 2 is the Onboarding course sharing policies, forms and information related to employment at 黑料社.
