FERPA Training for Faculty & Staff
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.
All faculty and staff, as well as any other agents of the university who request access to student information in all student information systems, need to complete FERPA training. The training program is intended to ensure that anyone accessing student education records understands the obligations under FERPA for proper use and protection of student records.
